Beautiful burtle

Well the levels were very giving today…
It might have been grey but I drove home beaming golden light, having had the honour of watching these beautiful wild animals in the distance from the shelter of the old Alder drove.
THIS is what it’s all about…the recent heavy rains had made the meadows sprout new life…tender bright grass…fit for a king! Three Roe deer, one large hind and two smaller buck grazed quietly with a backdrop of Oaks and Alder trees and the edge of the moor gently rising up to the village of Edington Burtle. There were sheep in the top fields and milking cows further up the slopes and in the foreground the moles had been motoring about on the soft peaty earth. Large flocks of Starlings, Lapwing, Gulls, Jackdaws and Crows flew about in the warm damp air.
Layer upon layer…
I stood…very quiet…and soaked it all in!
